What is Project Management?
Imagine you are a developer and wish to purchase a piece of land, but you need help finding a suitable plot and advice on planning regulations. You need to decide upon a product and wish to calculate the viability of the scheme you are contemplating. When the proposal is deemed feasible, you need to appoint an architect, agree his contract and his fees. You will need to apply for a building licence and request quotes from suitable building companies. The quotes must then be analysed, a company chosen, and a contract agreed. During construction you will need someone to coordination and liaise with the architects, technicians and builder, in order to control cost, quality and time. There are various contractual, financial and administrative procedures to be followed, before, during and after construction.
Imagine there is one professional who could offer advice and assistance with all the above. A person who would act on a client’s behalf and protect his interests in every aspect of the project. Such is the fundamental role of a Project Manager.

Although mainstream construction in Southern Spain is of a residential nature, Azurtec Project Group has experience in the Project Management of theatre construction, hotel refurbishment, palace extensions, industrial warehouse development, road re-instatement, installation of power cables, installation of treatment plants and infrastructure improvements, as well as construction of apartment blocks and villas.
All projects require the obtaining of licences and permits which invariably involves negotiation with municipal authorities and service providers such as Electricity and Water suppliers. Azurtec Project Group is experienced in these and other such administrative procedures.
The principles of coordination and liaison apply to a project’s tasks and not its nature, therefore management experience & services may be offered to a wide range of project type.
Fees
Time and responsibility
Since every project is unique, fees are agreed according to the services required and scale of involvement.
In the case of reduced roles, an hourly rate or monthly fee may be more suitable. In the event of a more major role, a percentage of the project value or a fixed fee is more normal.
Since the Project Manager is usually the key figure in the success and smooth running of a project, the assigned level of responsibility is also taken into consideration in fee proposals.
